Get Started as an Entrepreneur will consist of 6 sessions of speakers if you complete the series you get a JCI certificate. This is a great programme for anyone that is interested in starting up there own business or maybe already in it and needs that little bit more. 

The purpose of this course is to give you an insight into the skills and resources needed to become an entrepreneur.

You have the opportunity to ask these experts questions at the end of each talk as we will have a Q&A session which is really valuable. 

The fourth session will be presented by Mark Smith - 'Make it happen- you want to be your own boss'.

Have you often toyed with the idea of setting up your own business, but aren't quite sure if you have it in you to do so or even know how to start? Do you feel you are part of the rat race and want to work for yourself? In this session, Mark will share his experiences of going from a salaried job, not knowing anything about business, to taking the plunge and setting up his own business. What made him do it, what helped along the way and some top tips for anyone thinking about becoming self-employed.

About the speaker

Mark Smith has a wealth of experience within JCI after joining the organisation in 2012. He has served in many roles including as Local President, National President and most recently as the 2020 Vice President assigned to Europe. Mark has worked in the charity sector for many years in management and leadership roles. He set up his own training, coaching and consultancy business just over 3 years ago, Make Your Mark UK, which was a finalist as best business start up of the year in 2018 and 2019.
